East Coast to run additional service for Scotland vs England Rugby Union game

East Coast will operate an additional south bound train service for rugby fans travelling back after the Scotland versus England Rugby Union game in Edinburgh in February.

Tickets for the additional service, which departs Edinburgh at 20.00 on February 4th, 2012, are now on sale, allowing many more fans to travel back from the game at Murrayfield Stadium, following what is sure to be an epic clash between the old rivals.

Both teams are taking part in the opening game of the 2012 Six Nations tournament, which is the 127th meeting of the two rugby union teams.

The extra train will depart from Edinburgh at 20.00 on Saturday 4th February, calling at Dunbar (20.21), Berwick-upon-Tweed (20.46), Newcastle (21.41), Darlington (22.10), York (22.39), Doncaster (23.04), Wakefield Westgate (23.30) and Leeds (23.49).

East Coast Commercial and Customer Service Director, Peter Williams said:

“We’re delighted to run this additional train service so that many fans will be able to travel back after seeing England play against old rivals Scotland, which promises to be a really tough and exciting game.

“Tickets for the additional train service are now on sale, so we are urging all fans to book as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment as we’re expecting this service to be very popular.”
