The TransEd Partners consortium has broken ground on Stage 1 of the Edmonton Valley Line Light Rail Transit system in Canada.

Stage 1 of the Valley Line LRT will connect Mill Woods in the south east of Edmonton to Downtown, a route length of 13 kilometres. Stage 1 will include 11 stops, one station and a fleet of new low-floor light rail vehicles.

The TransEd Partners consortium, which includes Bombardier, Bechtel, EllisDon and Fengate Capital Management, will design, build and finance the Valley Line LRT system.
