Chengdu Metro line 3 opens to passengers

Line 3 phase one of Chengdu Metro has opened for passenger service.

On July 31, the first 20-kilometre section of the line between General Hospital of Chengdu Military Region to Taipingyuan opened for revenue service.

The line is being delivered in three phases. In total, the line will be 50.4 kilometres long and have 37 stations.

The Shanghai Alstom Transport Electrical Equipment (SATEE) joint venture is supplying the traction equipment for the line’s 432 new metro cars. Of these, 144 will serve phase one.
