CH2M to advise on San Bernardino passenger rail link

CH2M has been awarded a contract to provide programme management services for the proposed Redlands Passenger Rail Project (RPRP) in San Bernardino, California.

The 14.5-kilometre railway will link the San Bernardino Transit Center with the University of Redlands and wil connect with the existing Metrolink commuter network.

CH2M, which will advise on the rolling stock procurement and will carry out a fare collection system study, has been appointed by RailPros – the project’s lead programme manager.

Construction of the RPRP is due to start in 2017. Passenger services are scheduled to start in 2020.
