California Rail Builders, a special purpose entity of Ferrovial Agroman, has been selected to build the next section of the state’s planned high-speed railway.
Releasing details of the Construction Package 4 bids, the California High-Speed Rail Authority said California Rail Builders’ bid represented the best value for money.
The package was valued between $400 million and $500 million; California Rail Builders bid $347,557,000.
Construction Package 4 covers a 35-kilometre section in the Central Valley from a mile north of the Tulare/Kern County line to Poplar Avenue north of Bakersfield.
Authority chief executive Jeff Morales said: “We continue to attract world leading design and construction firms who want to be a part of high-speed rail in California.
“People are already and will continue to see major construction projects underway on over 100 miles of infrastructure in the Central Valley as we move this program forward.”
