The City of Naples has named CAF as its preferred bidder to supply up to 20 new metro trains.
The six-year framework order includes a firm order for 10 six-car trains for Metro Line 1, with an option for 10 more.
ANM (Azienda Napoletana Mobilità) operates Napoli’s two metro lines on behalf of the city council. It said it expects to receive the first train within 18 month of finalising the contract.
CAF has already supplied trains to Italy, including a total of 71 trains for the Rome Metro going back to 2002.
