Bombardier has completed the final three-car train for Singapore’s Downtown Line.
A ceremony was held in Changchun to mark the completion of the order, which totals 276 carriages.
Jayaram Naidu, head of South East Asia for Bombardier Transportation, said: “This milestone was achieved thanks to close collaboration between the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, Bombardier and other stakeholders.”
Deliveries of the final cars will be completed by the middle of this year. The trains already operate on the first two phases of the line, completing a combined 2 million kilometres in service.
The final stage is due to be commissioned next year.
Too bad Canada`s Bombardier cannot build more than about 2 streetcar per month for their domestic market in Toronto.
