The mayor of Bielefeld and around 6,000 other guests attended the opening of a 1.2-kilometre extension of the city’s light rail system.
Line 2 extends the light rail network into the city’s Altenhagen district and includes two new stops.
Construction of the line began in October 2014 with the majority of engineering work focusing on a 120-metre bridge.
