- Qualified and Trainee Driver Instructor Opportunities from £65k* pa plus benefits
SLC Operations, a licensed train operator and founders of The Rail Academy based in Kings Norton, Birmingham, is recruiting 12 new Driver Instructors responding to growing demand from clients across the UK.
Along with operating trains, the company is recognised by ORR to train and examine Train Drivers and is one of only two companies in the UK approved to deliver end point assessments for apprentice train drivers.
Cath Bellamy, Managing Director of The Rail Academy and SLC Operations said: “At a difficult time for the industry, we are really proud to be creating new jobs.
“As well as getting the chance to drive different types of rolling stock on a variety of routes and work with fantastic clients, our instructors will be helping the rail industry solve unprecedented training challenges.”
SLC Operations is interested in applicants who are either qualified Driving Instructors or qualified Train Drivers with aspirations to become a Driving Instructor.
The starting salary for qualified Driver Instructors is from £65k pa (full time) and applicants will need to hold an A1 assessor qualification (or equivalent) and a European Train Driving Licence (ETDL). Train drivers – with at least 5 years driving experience and an ambition to become an instructor – are encouraged to apply as a Trainee Driver Instructor and, if selected, will be on a starting salary of £62k pa (full time). SLC Operations will support the Trainee Driving Instructor through the Train the Trainer and A1 Assessor qualifications. This is a unique opportunity, which will give exceptional and ambitious train drivers a chance to fast track their career.
All Driving Instructors and Trainee Driving Instructors will be expected to drive a range of traction throughout the UK to stay up to date, in touch and competent.
The deadline for applications is the 30 April 2021. To find out more about the role and to apply, visit slcoperations.com. Alternatively you can also apply here.
