Around £3 million worth of track renewal and civil engineering works took place between Dundee and Aberdeen over three weekends in January, helping to reduce the potential impact of severe wet weather on the route.
Network Rail carried out a series of devegetation, earthwork, drainage and stabilisation projects to help guard against landslips and rockfalls. Sections of life-expired track were also renewed.
