Train operator Great Western Railway has devised another set of brain-teasing questions to help home-schooling parents keep their children educated and #enterTrained.
Youngsters are being encouraged to take a ride on the GWR Brain Train and test their knowledge of the Great Western network.
Some of the multiple-choice questions are particularly tricky so children may have to do some research online. The GWR Brain Train covers everything from Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s date of birth to Paddington Bear’s favourite sandwiches.
It’s all part of the online #GWREnterTrainment package which also includes: Anagrams; Guess The Station; Trackanory story time; a GWR cab ride; downloadable colouring sheets; videos about the history of the railway; and activity sheets featuring word searches, quizzes and more.
GWR’s Head of Communications Dan Panes said:
“Many of us speak from experience when we say how difficult it can be keeping children educated and entertained at home. We also know how many of you are missing your trips out on the train.
“Hopefully this will help stimulate the interest of young train enthusiasts and we would encourage people to visit #GWREnterTrainment for a host of other fun activities online.”

The train operator has been providing rail services throughout the pandemic and has worked to ensure these are as safe as possible. This includes increased cleaning regimes and the use of a virucidal spray; extra staff at key stations to offer help and guidance; and processes in place to help customers maintain a safe distance where possible, such as restricting the number of reservations available.
