Network Rail is advising passengers that the Inverclyde lines will remain closed for engineering works tomorrow with train services resuming on Thursday, March 20.
Engineers are completing work to renew a critical junction in Port Glasgow, with a 24-hour extension to the project required following an incident at the site over the weekend.
ScotRail will continue to run its replacement bus services from Paisley Gilmour Street. Passengers travelling on the route between Glasgow Central and Gourock/Wemyss Bay are urged to check before they travel on Wednesday, March 19.
Simon Constable, Network Rail operations director, said: “We want to thank passengers for their patience and understanding. We are working around-the-clock to finish this upgrade as quickly as possible ahead of services resuming on Thursday morning. Those travelling are asked to check their journey in advance at scotrail.co.uk or nationalrail.co.uk.”
