The Rail Engineer seminars featuring at Railtex 2011

This year’s Railtex will be the tenth in a successful series of exhibitions that have taken place since 1993, showcasing railway technology and services.

Now as then, the event aims to bring together the suppliers that the industry depends upon and the engineers, buyers and decision-makers tasked with running safe and efficient rail and public transport networks.

This year, Railtex will take place from 14th-16th June at London’s Earls Court.

Railtex is one of two rail exhibitions staged in the UK by St Albans-based Mack Brooks Exhibitions.

Taking place every two years, its remit is industry-wide, embracing both fixed network assets and rolling stock, and including the numerous supporting activities that complete the complex matrix of present day railway operations.

Its sister event Infrarail focuses specifically on the infrastructure. Among sectors covered are track and civil engineering, signalling and communications, electrification, station equipment and maintenance facilities.

This is also a biennial show, with Infrarail 2012 set to take place at Birmingham’s NEC in May next year.

For recent Railtex and Infrarail events, Mack Brooks Exhibitions has implemented initiatives to add visitor value, introducing features to make a visit more worthwhile, in some instances in collaboration with partner organisations.

This year’s Railtex is no exception, with the rail engineer contributing an extensive programme of seminars running through all three days of the exhibition and including keynote presentations that promise to be a big draw for visitors.

Added to that will be briefings on the progress of major projects by senior Network Rail managers as well as the organiser’s ever-popular Networking Reception for exhibitors and visitors at the end of the show’s first day – a great opportunity to renew old acquaintances and make new business contacts.

“We recognise that people are very busy and that time is valuable,” accepts Exhibition Manager Michael Wilton.

“That’s why we have added these features – to ensure that visitors will find plenty of reasons for coming to the show. We feel that Railtex 2011 has something for everyone.”
