World-leading specialist manufacturer Flowcrete will be showcasing its comprehensive flooring systems, geared up for the unique needs of the rail industry, at Railtex 2011.

Serving the sector for more than 30 years, the company’s latest innovation, Flowcrete Flowfast Rapid Transit, has become the flooring solution of choice within the industry for environments above and below ground.

Fire-resistant to LUL’s Section 12 usage, the product is a seamless acrylic resin system that includes the quartz finish Flowfast Rapid Transit SR and flexible floor tiles Flowfast Rapid Transit Tactiles.

Ready for use just two hours after installation, it has little impact on day-to-day operations during refurbishments and significantly speeds new build developments.

Offering excellent flexibility and slip resistance, together with colour variations to assist the visually impaired, the tactiles comply with LUL’s Engineering Standard E3821 A6.

The SR system is a seamless, textured floor ideal for use in all areas subject to high foot and vehicular traffic where health, hygiene and fire safety are paramount, including underground rail networks, washroom areas, warehousing and storage facilities.

Its anti-slip finish maintains colour stability under exposure to UV light and provides excellent scratch, chemical and wear resistance.

Time-proven solutions

Alan Dean, Flowcrete Sales Director, said: “Since its launch last year, Flowfast Rapid Transit has gone from strength-to-strength in the industry as specifiers recognise the value of a specially formulated floor finish developed to meet the exact needs of the railway sector.”

Flowcrete offers a range of time-proven rail solutions including the stylish and hard-wearing Mondéco, ideal for concourse areas, and the fast-track installation system Flowfast Terrosso for retail areas.

Flowcrete Deckshield also provides a decorative finish that demarcates and protects car parks, creating a safer, brighter and more inviting environment.

The antimicrobial floor finish Flowcrete Flowfresh uses the natural power of silver to control salmonella and E-coli in food preparation and other hygiene-sensitive environments, while the company’s industrial coatings support operations in back-of-house maintenance and plant room facilities.

Flowcrete can be found on stand D40 at Railtex.
