In advance of the May elections, Rail Forum Midlands (RFM) has launched ‘Supporting the Green Recovery in all the Devolved Nations and City Regions’.

This succinct document sets out the role the railway should play leading a Green Recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Elaine Clark, CEO, RFM said; “Our members provide products and services across the length and breadth of the UK and all are keen to support the UK’s green recovery from the pandemic. The railway provides a pivotal service to businesses and individuals. It is already recognised as a low carbon mode of transport with the potential to make a significant contribution towards the UK’s net zero targets. As our devolved nations and key city regions look to the future; infrastructure investment is high on everyone’s agenda and we are keen to ensure the railway plays its part.”

‘Supporting the Green Recovery in all the Devolved Nations and City Regions’ has been circulated to candidates across the English city regions, Scotland and Wales.
