RISQS, under the stewardship of RSSB, has chosen not to extend its contract with Capita beyond Tuesday 3rd August 2021 and will be taking this in house.

RISQS are now in discussion with Capita.

The current process is intended to improve the overall delivery and development of the RISQS scheme and safety in general in the industry and is designed to build on the good work done with Capita over the years.

It is business as usual at RISQS and members should continue to prepare for their audits as normal.

Speaking on the Capita news, Antony Howard, Head of Assurance at RSSB says,

The decision that has been taken has not been made lightly, but in the end, the resilience, ongoing improvement and development of the scheme and the sector is always at the forefront of decisions taken by RISQS.

Our members deserve a scheme that provides surety during the changes the Williams – Shapps plan will create. We want to be in the best place possible to provide the stability needed for a safer railway.

Angela Mulgrew Executive Director for Environment, H&S Consultancy and Technology adds:

Our utmost priority is to maintain our excellent delivery to RSSB and ensure our auditing programme continues effectively over the coming months. We are also focussed on an efficient transition to avoid disruption to the suppliers, RSSB and our delivery team.
