Rail Europe appoints Jürgen Witte as Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Rail Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Jürgen Witte as Chief Product Officer (CPO). With years of experience in the travel industry and several months as Chief of Staff at Rail Europe, Jürgen Witte has developed a deep understanding of the sector and will bring a wealth of strategic and operational knowledge to the role.

As new CPO, Jürgen Witte, will therefore be in charge of overseeing the entire product development process, from ideation to launch and beyond. Jürgen is a member of the management team and will support the aligned growth path of the company.

Jürgen has an impressive record in product development, having led successful product launches and driven product strategies in leading companies in the industry. His in-depth knowledge, ability to identify market opportunities and deliver products that meet customer needs will be key to help drive the growth of Rail Europe in the years to come and bring more people onto rail.” says Björn Bender.

Jürgen Witte joined Rail Europe in November 2022, in the position of Chief of Staff, where he was in charge of commercial performance, business intelligence and cross-departmental projects. Prior to this, Jürgen spent five years at Deutsche Bahn, where he was Head of Shared Mobility Car. He also worked for some of the biggest players of the Travel & Transport Industry in Europe such as Travelport, Ebookers, TUI and Thomas Cook, in c-level roles.

My personal mission will be to make train travel easier and more accessible for all our customers by further developing our portfolio of offers. With my passion and my experience in leading cross-functional teams, I am very much looking forward to driving structural innovation within the company and cater to the needs of rail travellers.” says Jürgen Witte.

Jürgen’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be based in Rail Europe’s headquarters in Paris.
