Train operator c2c celebrates Father’s Day

With Father’s Day just around the corner, National Express train operator c2c decided to celebrate early with employee Ray Lovely and his sons at Shoeburyness station, Essex where Father’s Day is a real family affair.

Ray Lovely and his three sons, Anthony, Michael and Raymond all work for the train operator and between them they have racked up an impressive number of years service.

Father Ray Lovely began working for the railway in May 1987 at Southend Victoria and is now a train driving instructor based in Shoeburyness, Essex.

Anthony, his eldest son joined the railway in October 2002 as a guard and has been a driver since 2007. Michael, the second eldest joined in 2004 and is also a driver.

Raymond, the youngest in the family joined c2c in March 2008 and is shortly to begin a new position as a Train Captain at Shoeburyness.

Ray Lovely said: “We all enjoy working on the railway, including all the camaraderie with each other and our colleagues, plus we’ve made some really good friends.

“Looking back, I only began working on the railway as a bit of a stop gap but like many of my colleagues I’ve stayed a long time and I’ve really enjoyed my 24 years.

“I am delighted my boys have decided to follow in my footsteps.”
