Passengers urged to check before they travel following incident in West Midlands area

Listen to this article

Emergency services responded to an incident in the Crewe area this morning, affecting train services in the West Midlands and the North West.

Disruption to services is expected until later this morning. Network Rail is working closely with train operating companies to restore normal service. In the meantime, services may be cancelled or altered, including re-routing some services.

“We are working closely with emergency services and train operating companies following the incident, said Paul Owen, Network Rail’s operations director for North West route. “Our priority is to get services running safely, and get passengers to where they need to go. Disruption is expected until later this morning, so we’re urging people to plan their journeys and check before they travel with their train operator or National Rail Enquiries.”
