ATOC responds to RSSB safety summary report

Listen to this article

In response to the RSSB’s overview of rail industry safety performance in 2010, a spokesperson for ATOC said:

“The safety of passengers and staff is the highest priority for train companies and the whole of the rail industry. It is very encouraging that the RSSB has found that many key indicators continue to improve. Catching a train remains significantly safer than most other forms of transport and the UK’s railways are amongst the safest in Europe.

“But any death on the railway is a tragedy. Train companies and their partners will continue to put all their efforts into ensuring that stations and trains are as safe as they possibly can be for everyone who uses them.”
