Mott MacDonald’s North American company acquires two engineering firms

Mott MacDonald’s North American company, Hatch Mott MacDonald has acquired Gibson Engineers PC from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and Richard P Arber Associates based in Lakewood, Colorado.

Gibson Engineers specialise in transportation infrastructure, with the firm best known for its capabilities in highway and rail design, traffic engineering and transportation planning. Gibson Engineers will strengthen Hatch Mott MacDonald’s transportation engineering practice in the south-eastern states, where the firm has an established water, wastewater and transportation practice.

Richard P Arber Associates focuses on water, wastewater, and water reuse engineering services. The consultants have completed a number of state-of-the-art projects for clients within Colorado and throughout western USA. Arber Associates will support Hatch Mott MacDonald’s water, wastewater and water reuse services in western USA, adding to the considerable expertise offered by the firm.

President and chief executive officer of Hatch Mott MacDonald Nick DeNichilo said of Gibson and Richard P Arber joining the Group, “Gibson’s presence in North Carolina is an excellent strategic fit for Hatch Mott MacDonald and will enable us to provide continuous geographic coverage for east coast projects, while effectively expanding our rail and highway business in the east with the expertise and resources provided by Gibson.”
