Network Rail released figures today showing the train performance for May.
The figures also showed incidents that resulted in trains being cancelled or delayed.
Cows on the line led to 15 trains being cancelled on the UK’s rail network in May, Network Rail said.
In a list of the top 5 delays, this incident between Nuneaton came in 5th. It caused 3,267 minutes of delays to train services.
Other incidents include signal failures caused by cable thefts which, combined, caused 95 trains to be cancelled. This resulted in 7,423 minutes of delays to passengers.
Top of the list was a signal failure between Reading and Twyford which caused a massive 139 trains to be cancelled and 5,967 minutes of delays to services.
On average, 93.7% of trains ran on time in May, the same percentage as last year.
