Copenhagen Metro & Ansaldo STS sign frame agreement of reinvestment plan

Ansaldo STS and Metroselskabet have signed a frame agreement for the reinvestment in technical installation of the Copenhagen Metro currently in operation (Vanlose – Vestamager – Lufthavn).

The scope of the agreement includes the reinvestment for upgrading the existing technical systems originally supplied by Ansaldo STS as part of Metrselskabet’s Capital Asset Replacement Program.

The program will ensure that aging and obsolete components will be replaced or upgraded over the next years in order to maintain the high level of Passenger Service Availability achieved by the Copenhagen Metro.

The systems identified in the investigation are:

  • Automatic Train Control (ATC)
  • Supervision Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Passenger Security & Information System (PSIS)
  • Obstacle Detection System
  • Rolling Stock
  • Workshop and Depot equipment.

As part of the scope of work Ansaldo STS will also support Metroselskabet in defining the reinvestment plan and will be responsible to develop a detailed plan for the supply and the installation of the new equipment for Metroselskabet’s approval.

The expected value of the reinvestment program is €33.
