In response to Consumer Focus’s call for more information about train services to be made available to passengers, a spokesperson for ATOC said:

“Train operators recognise the value of reporting on their performance and a significant amount of information is already available to passengers.

“Every operator’s punctuality statistics are published on a monthly basis and the independent watchdog Passenger Focus carries out a comprehensive survey of around 25,000 customers every six months.

“The most recent survey broke down the results on punctuality and reliability by route to give greater detail on what passengers thought about these aspects of the service provided.”
