Please note: This strike has now been called off and Arriva Trains Wales will be operating a full service on these dates.
Arriva Trains Wales have released another statement regarding more cancelled services due to strikes by the ASLEF union:
“We regret to inform you that there will be no Arriva Trains Wales train services on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March. This is due to industrial action imposed by the ASLEF union. The action coincides with the Wales versus Ireland game taking place at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday 12th March.
Saturday 12th March
Please note that no replacement bus services will be available on Saturday 12th March.
Cardiff Central station will remain open for the entire weekend for First Great Western and Cross Country services. Passengers using these services on Saturday 12th March should note that there will be a queuing system in place after the Wales vs Ireland match at Cardiff Central and seats will be provided on a first come first served basis due to limited capacity.
Sunday 13th March
A limited bus services on Sunday 13th March will be available serving some key locations throughout the network. Bus timetables will be published on this website as soon as possible.
Other train operating companies including First Great Western , Cross Country, Virgin, London Midland and Northern will continue to run as normal.
We advise customers to postpone all non-essential travel and we apologise for the obvious inconvenience this will cause.”
